Look of the Day

Recently I've been obsessed with matching print ensembles, and what better way to show it off than with these Marc by Marc Jacobs shorts and jumper? I love chilled out 'sports' wear and this ensemble went perfectly with a simple black leather duffle bag (also from Marc by Marc Jacobs) my shades from Carrera and the Givenchy star studded high tops. Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite brands for casual looks - I find that they're extremely affordable when going for a luxury brand. The weather was so perfect for this look, however it's now sadly getting a lot hotter so you'll be seeing me in a lot more tanks and tees, which means less layering *dies*.  This ensemble is available in store at the moment, excluding the shades and the shoes. Go check out Marc by Marc Jacobs for similar looks - I spotted the same sweater in luminous hues and variations of it without the hood (in both the men's and women's collections).

Marc by Marc Jacobs Retro Event

On Wednesday I attended the Marc by Marc Jacobs retro event - hosted by the lovely and beautiful Nadya Hasan from The Fierce Diaries. The event had a great atmosphere, where the DJ was playing some of the greatest 90's hits and there was an artist creating a truly retro piece that fit perfectly with the evening. I got a cute badge made for me with my name on it and some Marc by Marc Jacobs snap on bracelets for my friends that came out of a bubblegum machine. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves which leads me to conclude that the event was a success! Knowing me I got so distracted by the collections hanging round the store. I decided to pick up a pair of shorts, a jumper and a gorgeous leather bag, which will all be included in my upcoming 'Look of the Day'. Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite diffusion ranges of all time - you'll be seeing a lot more of their items in my looks. If you haven't been down to marc by Marc Jacobs yet, go check them out in Mall of the Emirates and see the finished art piece presented in store, or go see them in Dubai Mall. I'd definitely say that Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of the most affordable luxury brands, making it available to everyone.

Fashion Forward

On Thursday I attended Fashion Forward for it's first ever season in the Emirate. This day was almost heaven for me as all of Dubai and U.A.E's most influential fashion icons were about and I attended show after show with a quick outfit change. I arrived around 2pm and firstly attended the WHYESSE show, showcasing their most recent collection. I sat front row and couldn't keep my eyes off of the beautiful garments, worn by incredibly beautiful models. When watching fashion shows, I never leave without having appreciated every ounce of effort and work put into presenting what is the art and foundation of this entire industry. From the garments, which have been exquisitely designed to  models and further on to the hair, make-up and organisation allowing us to watch, critique and admire exactly what gives anyone in the fashion industry a sense of purpose.

Here are a few shots I took with my phone of the WHYESSE show I attended.

After the WHYESSE show I attended the 'How to budget your next collection by LAMONICA-BAAS GROUP' where I learned some extremely insightful information on how fashion labels successfully grow in the most efficient and realistic ways possible.

My second show of the day was 'The Emperor 1688' show, presenting their SS13 collection. Congratulations to the Golkar brothers as this was their first ever show. Their SS13 collection is sincerely to die for - their garments are made with the finest European fabrics. I hope soon to update my closet with their beautiful suits, belts and shirts. Their brand DNA is completely contemporary, classic and chic to say the least. I highly recommend The Emperor 1688 to men and women.

And finally, the last show I attended was probably the most anticipated show of the night - ESSA. Essa has a truly incredible talent for fashion design, his show was more than expected - I was blown away. Before entering the show there was a swarm of people cramped into a small space all trying to enter to get the best seats possible. One thing about Essa's show, which I thought conveyed his message of drive, ambition and attitude was the music. The show was more than perfectly coordinated, leaving me gobsmacked at each garment that was walked down the shiny decadent runway. What an incredible show this was - I have added countless pieces from his collection to my wishlist. Well done to Essa for everything he has achieved. I highly recommend ESSA for everyone, whether it be a miraculous ball gown or a perfectly cut and fitted jacket that you're looking for.

Fujifilm Instax 210 Polaroid Camera

A couple of weeks ago, whilst I was working in the WEST L.A. office I came across these amazing polaroid cameras. I already own a classic Polaroid Cool Cam 600, however that is a classic and just not worth the risk of breaking. Also the film for classic polaroids is hard enough to get your hands on, not to mention the price too. I bought my Fujifilm Instax 210 with the films for a great price of around 300 dirhams for the camera and 40 dirhams for each pack of film (containing 10 photos). Below are some of the shots I've taken since I bought it.

Mother Nature

I'm finally back from my longest break from blogging I've ever taken. I sincerely apologise to any readers who depend on my posts, however I've just been swamped with stress about university, interviews and organising my life plans. Here is the second part to the shoot I previously did of Paulina as 'Athena'. Here I attempted in embodying 'Mother Nature'. Excuse the crumpled backdrop but I'm still in the process of learning how to perfect photos on photoshop. I'm extremely grateful to WEST L.A. Boutique for allowing me to use their studio and stock for my shoots, which make my shots incredibly better. Keep an eye out for upcoming outfit posts, lots of new brands, items in my closet and products to be seen soon. I might not have been blogging for a while but I haven't stopped working!
- All shots were shot and styled by myself, including hair and makeup.
